Cutaneous larva migrans
This condition is caused by hookworm larvae commonly found in animals such as cats, dogs, and rodents.
These larvae are shed through animal feces, and when a person walks barefoot on contaminated soil, the larvae can penetrate the skin surface. Once inside, they migrate beneath the skin, creating winding or creeping tracks—hence the name “creeping eruption.”
The affected area often shows redness, swelling, and inflammation, accompanied by intense itching and sometimes burning sensations. If untreated, the larvae can travel through the lymphatic system and bloodstream, eventually reaching the intestine, where they mature and reproduce, continuing the cycle.
At Dr. Varsha’s Homeopathy, treatment focuses on the individual as a whole—not just the infection. Each case is studied in detail, considering physical symptoms, emotional state, and overall constitution. Based on this totality, a personalized homeopathic remedy is prescribed to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. With proper follow-up, patients experience relief from itching and inflammation, and complete recovery without recurrence.
